Cross-Cultural Alphabet

This year, Josh's wish finally came true... he gets to go to school! He's in a morning pre-k class that has turned out to be amazingly diverse!! There are 17 kids in his class and probably at least 6 countries represented. He's got a friend from Mexico and Brazil. A little Chinese looking friend, as well as a few who are brought by their Muslim moms who are fully covered from head to toe.
In the car yesterday, Josh yells, "M-M, I see an M!!! It's the letter that goes down- up- down- up- down."
"You're right Josh," I said, "Do you know what sound the M makes?"
"It says Mmmmm Mmmmm! It's the letter of Mohammad's name!!!"
