Questions from Han this week....

I saw this one coming.... The other day I was reading the kids' AWANA lesson to them and it was telling the story of Adam and Eve. God had told them that if they ate the fruit from the tree they would die. Well, first thing out of Han's mouth after Wednesday's AWANA Cubbies was
"Mom, did Adam and Eve die?"
Yes, they died when they were really old.
"But did they die after they sinned, or after they had childwin?"
They died after they had children.
"But, God told them if they ate from the twee of knowledge of good and evil that they would suhly die. And they ate, and didn't die."
Explain that one to a 4-year-old. And for the record, Hud was equally as confused and needing an answer.

Question #2)
"Mom, if God's alive why doesn't he just show himself to me?"
I told her my answer and ended saying that one day when we go to heaven we'll get to see him as much as we want to.
Then she said something about it being a long time from now, "but it won't be long for God, because what seems like a long time to us isn't very long for God, huh Mom."
How did she know that?

#3)
"Mom, can Jesus be in every body's hearts?"
Yes, if they ask him in.
"But how does he do that? That's so many people."

And who said being a mommy was easy?

I think these questions possibly are an indication of the all too often forgotten reality that explans why the scripture says, "unless we come as a little child." Could it be that the depth of a child's mind to absorb theological concepts is way beyond our appreciation for it???

On question #1: If Adam and Eve hadn't eaten that fruit, they would have NEVER died. Because they disobeyed, they DID die eventually and so do we. Correct me if I'm wrong here.
